About
I have been writing server-side software since 2014, mostly in C++ and Go. Most of that time went into industrial systems: scheduling, billing, and the data plumbing underneath them.
I care about boring software. A backup you can actually restore is worth more than an architecture diagram, and a log line you can grep is worth more than a dashboard nobody reads. Most of what I write here comes from that attitude rather than from anything clever.
I live in Tampere with my family. Outside of work I spend time in the sauna, walking in Nuuksio when the weather allows it, and on my own dotfiles, which is a hobby with no end.
What I work with
- Languages
- C++17/20, Go, some Python when a script is the right answer
- Storage
- SQLite, PostgreSQL, LMDB, and the file formats people build on top of them
- Operations
- systemd, nginx, Debian, a small amount of Ansible before it becomes a career
